COMPARISON AND OUTCOME OF MY FILM WEBSITE

Before

After

I will be comparing my Film Website research to the actual final website. Within my Film Website I involved many codes and convention of a website such as social media, web banner and interactive elements ect. As well as composing research through Scoop.it of short film. Scoop.it that I used which is a useful source to further extent my knowledge about Short Film. I also analysed three Short Film Websites and I used all these research to make my final Film Website.

The outcome of my Film Website has many beneficial and effective features e.g using the house theme colour following on form my postcard. I also involved multimedia elements, behind the scenes images and Character development of our main protagonists. However there are negative aspects as well such as not including Navigational Features and Flash Elements; these would make the website more interactive and engaging.

BRANDING OF MY FILM WEBSITE

Film Websites
When making a new up-coming film, there re many platforms to attract and address audiences to promote the film. A Film Website can be one of these, there aim is to engage with their target audiences and also to create buzz and excitement before the release.  Film websites are the most beneficial platforms to entice audiences members. This is proven when they search the film title to look for the trailer, the website will appear making them go straight to it; the film website should be a movie's central hub of information.

Film Websites are now complemented by various social media platforms e.g Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. This is the reason why the majority of Film Websites have their socials linked on the home page. Social media is hugely growing in today's world making it vital to have these in a website. Social media also has access to the younger views and so if your film has the target audience of young adolescents then this will be essential

I am going to research and analyse Film Website to gather how different films websites of different genres and identify their codes and conventions. I will use Scoop.it to collate my initial research of Film Websites.

Film Websites Codes And Conventions

Navigational FeaturesThis is essential to have on a website as it provides a realistic feel when providing guidelines on where to watch the films as well as providing the times that are available. They provide good navigation which will allow audiences to search your site for longer, giving them confidence in where they are and what they can receive from your websiteNavigation allows visitors to search with ease.

Web Banner - This is the title of a web page and it is similar to how newspapers set out their layouts. This is a key feature as it is used to attract the audiences and entice them into this certain content on the website. Within a Web Banner a choice of images and font selection has been chosen to apply to the genre of the film.

Flash Elements - These are used to incorporate animations and interactive content. This will be hugely useful to make you website to stand out. A flash-plug is required for these features. However, many websites are moving away from Flash and going towards neutral technologies instead.

Multimedia Features - This is a format which is the use of images, video and text on the website, this makes the information more engaging and effective to draw the audiences in. This can make long boring information more exciting to read.

Interactive Elements - This allows the audiences to participate through surveys, games and quizzes this provides information from good sources of the audience which will be useful to improve the film website.
